Kabbalah and the Power of Dreaming – Awakening the Visionary Life by Catherine Shainberg. (C) 2005. Inner Traditions. ISBN 159477047-6.

My husband bought me this book; he was at the book store and this book literally jumped out at him – so he decided it must want to come home.

Don’t let the name fool you – it does have references to the Kabbalah (easily understood in this book); biblical references and sometimes refers to mythology, and are used as examples – but this book is for everyone.

Sheinberg described her wandering (physically and spiritually) young self; meeting the amazing woman, Colette Simhah Aboulker-Muscat, and entering into a fantastic learning and self-discovery journey.

Shainberg writes beautifully of her growth process and experiences; she also writes clearly and makes it easy to follow.

She provides mini-exercises throughout the book to help the reader begin to experience dreaming. Not the fantasy letting-loose dreaming…rather the listening to self-dreaming.

My self-talk dreams began in earnest before I even finished 1/4 of the book – and it has been a fun journey. I do believe that each person who reads her book will benefit from it and I really recommend this book for everyone who wishes to refine the process of listening to self and dream working!
