“We Knew These Men” – W. Brandon
“We Knew These Men”, Wilfred Brandon, transcribed by Edith Ellis. Copyright 1942, Edith Ellis. G. & R. Anthony, Inc., Merit Publications.
The books mentioned below are much older, but I have been able to find reasonably priced ones online. Again, also check with your local libraries to see if they carry copies of these books.
Edith Ellis began mediumship writing in the early 1900’s. Wilfred Brandon provided the information for this book, from the other side.
Brandon tells the stories of some American soldiers who were sent to the front during the World War.
The reader is introduced to some of these soldiers, and follows their stories – beginning with before their deaths through what happened after they died and left their physical bodies – and on to what happens on the other side.
The front of the dust cover jacket, explained it quite well: “Retailing the experiences of a group of American soldiers whom he know, Wilfred Brandon sends from etheric plane a message to an American once again re-arming for conflict.”
In the times that we are in now, I think this book has proven to be timeless.
Although I will not review them, there are also two other books by the same author. If you enjoy this book, you will probably enjoy those two as well.
The other two books are: “Open the Door!” and “Incarnation – A Plea from the Masters”.
“The Element Encyclopedia of the Psychic World” – T. Cheung
“The Element Encyclopedia of the Psychic World; the ultimate a-z of spirits, mysteries and the paranormal”, Theresa Cheung. © 2006, Harper Element. ISBN 978-0-00-778389-2.
This is not a dictionary on the paranormal; it is an encyclopedia.
I really like this – it is comprehensive –it really does cover A-Z.
Do you know what the following words mean? Abacomancy, bakechochin, phasmophobia, ololygmancy.
Do you know who Joseph Gaither Pratt was? Why would Abraham Lincoln be in this book?
You can find the answers, and so much more in this book.
Cheung has compiled so much information in this book; it’s great! She includes some tips; twenty-nine pages of resources that contains wonderful information such as: organizations (with contact information), magazines, quotes, etc.
I recommend this book for everyone with paranormal or metaphysical interests.
“Psychic Spy” – C. Linedecker
“Psychic Spy – The story of an astounding man”, by Clifford L. Linedecker. (C) 1976, Doubleday and Company. ISBN 0-385-11457-5.
The sixteen year old, Ernesto Montgomery, of the Jamaican Home Guard finds himself attached to the British Intelligence’s Psychic Division. His abilities, mainly remote viewing, were utilized during World War II.
Interesting story of his experiences. Linedecker also includes some future predictions from Montgomery, for the year 2000 and beyond.
Interesting and easy read.
“Spirit Rescue…” – W. Davidson
“Spirit Rescue: A Simple Guide to Talking With Ghosts and Freeing Earthbound Spirits”, Wilma Davidson, Llewellyn Publishing. (C) 2006. ISBN 0-7387-0907-7.
The title (I believe) is a misnomer. Though Davidson does write a bit about spirit rescue, she also covers numerous subtopics and topics.
One thing I need to broach, up front, is that I DO NOT agree with lying, deceit or “white lies” when dealing with anyone! Be they living, earthbound, or have crossed over. Davidson wrote that she has salesmanship in her background and draws on this a bit, as well as lying, to get others to cross over.
Davidson begins by touching briefly on reincarnation and astral travel, then moves on to earthbound and spirit rescuing. She provides colorful examples – drawn from her experiences – of interaction with earthbounds.
From there she hops around, touching on the following chapter topics: Animals, Spiritual Circles (another way of learning metaphysical basics, etc.); Spiritual Healing; Psychic Protection (a must!); Negative Entities, and Death.
She also intermittently talks about GS (geopathic stress).
I disagree with her interpretation of how to tell if you are receiving information from the light side or dark side (but that does not make me right!).
On the whole, I liked her book – even though I disagree with some points in it.
“Invisible Roots” – B. Stone
“Invisible Roots: How Healing Past Life Trauma Can Liberate Your Present”, Barbara Stone, PhD. © 2008, Energy Psychology Press. ISBN 978-1-60415-017-9.
Dr. Stone, a psychotherapist, combines a variety of techniques (“Treatment Modalities”) in her practice to help others heal.
She provides some example cases, sharing their story; how they found the root cause of the problem; and what was done to assist in re-balancing the individual.
Some cases showed a root cause of a past life (or lives) trauma. For this, Dr. Stone worked with the client to access the past life trauma and work through healing it utilizing tapping techniques, visualization, past life recall, and more.
Some cases revealed an earthbound attachment (or more). Dr. Stone worked on assisting the earthbound “person” to heal and cross over – which often helped to alleviate the client’s problem.
She gives symptoms of earthbound attachments and how she uses muscle testing to learn more about the attached “person”. She uses the information to assist in crossing the “person” over.
Stone guides the reader through the different “Levels of Healing”: the Physical Body; Energy Body; Mental & Emotional Body; Intuitive Body and the Spiritual Body. She explains each “Body” and, either shows by case example, and/or provides a checklist of what is affected by an imbalance in a particular “Body”.
Barbara Stone also includes checklists, as well as appendices with even more information, examples and some “how to’s” for a few techniques.
This book is wonderful for both the working therapist as well as the lay person. I was pleased to read about Dr. Stone using a diverse assortment of techniques (as opposed to one or two techniques) to help clients.
This book is recommended for all levels of readers.
“Second Sight” – J. Orloff
“Second Sight”, Judith Orloff, M.D. (C) 1996, Warner Books Inc. ISBN 0-446-67335-8.
As a rebellious teenaged daughter of two doctors, Judith drifted in life, angry and restless.
A car accident in 1968 was the turning point. It was during this accident that Judith Orloff was introduced to ‘the tunnel’ where she was enscounced while she watched her physical body inside of a car that had hurled over a cliff.
Judith brings the reader through her life: an unfocused teen; being introduced, and working with Dr. Moss at the Neuropsychiatric Institute; becoming a psychiatrist; and, learning how to integrate her extra-sensory abilities with her psychiatric practice.
She shares in this book her colorful experiences, and how she handled them; and advice for those who do energy work.
For Beginners, it contains a lot of sharing: of fears; letting one’s “psychic cat” out of the bag; and offers suggestions on how to integrate psychic abilities with daily life.
For other levels, it is an exceptionally well written book that can humbly remind you of where you’ve been and where you are now – as well as offering suggestions to help improve what you do now.
I carried this book around with me, reading whenever I had the chance… which means, I really recommend this book.
