Yes! We must become responsible for our health and healthcare. Education is the answer, but you won't hear it from your doctor too often. It has been my experience that there are many doctors, but only a few physicians. It is sad to me that people can't choose alternative medicine because it is not usually covered by insurance. Some insurance companies do cover treatments like massage, acupuncture, and chiropractic services, and this is a excellent. No insurance company that I know of covers herbal medicines prescribed by say, a doctor of oriental medicine, or herbologist. Few programs for recovery from drug and alcohol addiction offer acupucture and herbal medicine in their treatement, even though it has been proven to work in several studies done in the last 30 years. The main reason is because providers can't get paid for it because it is not a covered treatment by the insurance company. Thank goodness most alternative medicine is inexpensive compared to FDA approved drugs (For example, the cost of Prozac vs. the cost of St.John's Wort?) Thank goodness there is a vast amount of free information available to us through websites like www.swsbm.com/homepage , from the late, great Michael Moore's website. It frightens me though....how long will we be sheeple, blindly letting OUR goverment, or insurance companies dictate how we take care of ourselves, and how long will we believe "medicine" is made only by drug companies. I think I will stick with the wisdom of 5000 years of the Chinese, instead of the FDA. There is hope though. I learned at the Organic Farmers Conference in Albuquerque last weekend that more and more people are asking for pesticide free food. Once we care about something, we fight for it. Education is the answer.

There is a great local botanical company, Desert Woman Botanicals: www.desertwoman.net. She makes a tea called New Life Tea that is excellent! Maybe it will help the loss of your bioidentical hormone.
Love ya!

Hi Jan,

I saw a special on the news today that people are getting together to voice the exact same sentiments. The FDA is protecting us to death is what they are talking about.
