A Bit About Me
I’ve been an avid reader my whole life. I’ve been writing since I was a child, and have had this blog going since 2008. I have published Re-Writing My Future: A Stroke In Time; Book One in the World Paranormal Organization Series, Cursed Dagger and Dragon: Clarima Syd Jones; Book Two in the World Paranormal Organization Series, Prophecy Revealed: Clarima Syd Jones; and A Voice Unheard: Poetry, Prose & More.
Over the years, I’ve been a critique partner online, as well as being a beta reader, and have swapped copy editing with other authors.
I am open to edit the following genres — both fiction and non-fiction — for now:
- Paranormal, Paranormal Mystery, Paranormal Romance
- Spiritual
- Supernatural
- Metaphysical
How Does This Work?
You send me the first 2000-2500 words of your document/manuscript in .doc or .docx format. I’ll edit it and return it to you. This way we can both see if we’re a good fit for your project.
I highly recommend you self-edit your finished manuscript several times before you hire a copy editor. This saves you time and money.
If we decide to work together (a session) you’ll inform me of the word count of your completed document (at that time) and you pay the first half of the fee. When I’m ready to send back your manuscript/document with Track Changes, I’ll send you a request (from Paypal.me/RUPublishing) or an invoice (Square – RUPublishing) for the balance due.
I charge $40.00 per 1000 words for Copy Editing. No refunds.
I do not do fact checking/checking for accuracy and consistency of the terminology of your manuscript/document.

Copy Editing
I do two pass-throughs of your manuscript, looking at (but is not limited to):
- the flow of your work
- inconsistencies
- basic spelling, grammar and punctuation
- advice on adding, moving and/or deleting text
- comments might be included at editor’s discretion
Sending me one or two chapters at a time are highly recommended (with the next two chapters after you receive the first two back). This allows you to see where I am at in your manuscript and it may not feel so overwhelming.
I make suggestions and suggested edits within your .doc or .docx document using Track Changes. The final decision as to implement any changes is up to you. The turn around is approx. 30 days for full manuscripts depending on the size of the manuscript.

Rush Jobs: An additional 30% surcharge and up is required for rush jobs.

PDF or Kindle/EPub Formatting
Once you deem your project ready to go, I can format your project – this includes preparing it for book print size (PDF) or EPub/Kindle (aka print-ready). Each revision after initial project is considered a new project. This means that after font preference is picked (with Amazon approved fonts) and formatting preferences (I will provide samples with your text), and the finalized approved product is provided to you for publication, any changes after that is another project and will be billed accordingly. Repeated formatting changes beyond print-ready are considered new projects and will be billed accordingly. No refunds.
PDF (print) formatting fee: $200.00
EPub/Kindle formatting fee: $150.00

NOTE
To finalize prepping your completed manuscript for print or Epub, you have to have an ISBN (International Standard Book Number).
Each version of your book has to have it’s own ISBN number — a print copy needs one and an epub needs one. You can purchase ISBN’s at Bowker.
The free route is accepting Amazon’s ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number), but it will not be recognizable outside of Amazon.
