Reiki and Haunted Houses?

I was recently asked if Reiki could be used on haunted houses to “clear out the negative energies of the persons and the house and restore protective boundaries. This is a larger context than I’ve heard before for Reiki practice.”

Reiki

Reiki, in my interpretation, is an energy healing modality used to clear energy paths, re-balance and calm. It’s:

– Clearing
– Transmuting
– Re-balancing
– Calming

The premise is that once a Reiki session is done, things are given a chance to move back into harmony (in accordance with the client’s soul contract and their free will). This may allow the body a greater chance of healing itself. Reiki is used as complementary to/with your physician’s treatment.

Reiki is energy manipulation; transforming/transmuting or removing energetic imbalances and restoring energy flow.

(As a side note: my Shielding Technique* is another avenue to accomplishing this…same principle.)

By helping clear the detritus, I feel the body can spend more time healing itself and less energy on fighting with or through the garbage.

Other Ways Reiki Can Be Used

Again, my belief. I am of the adage, “If you can think it, you can Reiki it.”

Here are some other ways I’ve utilized Reiki:

– my house (to remove stagnant or unwanted energies and to keep the energy healthy and balancing)
– my vehicle (ditto)
– my land/property
– the water coming to the house
– the electricity coming to the house
– wild animals who seek aid (I never physically interact with them)
– situations that left me feeling off-kilt
– my past (that I needed healing energy to aid clearing it up within me)
– Service dogs in public (when the dog requested it)
– my food, especially if it was microwaved
– offered Reiki to the world for those who wish to partake of it
– set up Reiki “IV bags”; these are perpetual, self-filling Reiki contained energetic “IV bags” that I’ve attached to animals and humans for long term access for the client – normally used for chronic pain.

So yes, I do believe Reiki can be used to clear a haunted house and to aid in setting up boundaries. Now, to me, there’s no one technique that does everything – though Reiki is pretty darned close – so I have other techniques to use in conjunction with Reiki if needed.

I am not a Reiki Master purist, meaning I don’t use just Reiki. I use whatever tools/abilities in my energetic toolbox that may benefit/assist the client.

Reiki is versatile; it’s all about working to regain balance, harmony and flow.

Haunted Houses

Did you know that not all “haunting activity” is caused by ghosts? Some are caused by faulty wiring; old water pipes and some are animal-related. But there’s another cause…living humans. When someone stuffs or doesn’t process intense emotions, that energy can be displaced and can cause poltergeist-like activity. This is why Reiki for the people within the structure is recommended…Reiki can help dispel some of that built-up energy.

This type of “haunting”, which usually manifests Psychokinesis (PK) activity, can be caused by anyone going through major hormonal changes (such as puberty or menopause), or by anyone going through some intense emotional stuff in their life and they are not processing the energy associated with those emotions.

Haunted House Talks Back

I had come across a haunted house and property where the house was aware and communicative. Was this perhaps an egregore of the house created by the multitude of years of occupants in this very old house? Possibly.

I was called to do a walk-through energy read of a home and property for a potential buyer.

The ghosts, spanning over a century, weren’t aggressive or interfering, and some were just residual (a recording of a repetitive action that plays on a loop) and didn’t need anything from me.

The ghosts that were interactive (consciously aware) just wanted to go about living in their reality and stayed mostly in the barn and garage.

But it was the house that wanted to chat.

None of this, in my opinion, needed to be removed or transmuted. I did offer Reiki blessings to the house and ghosts and no one was ready to cross over.

Reiki Used for Clearing Haunted Houses

By utilizing Reiki to clear a haunted house, you are pushing out (removing) the imbalances in energy and setting up boundaries to keep interfering ghosts out, while presenting energy to encourage movement within the space (ghosts love stagnant, non-human occupied areas) as well as bringing/transmuting the energy to the “good vibes” setting.

These boundaries, as far as I’m concerned, are absolutely necessary to have if anyone in the house has abilities – especially medium abilities – to afford the novice peace at home.

One example for verbiage for setting boundaries could be, after pushing out the unwanted energies and dealing with them: Only that which is highest and holiest may enter within.

But, you must first be very clear in your head and being, exactly what those words mean to you.

For dealing with unwanted energies (not entities/ghosts): I like transmuting them to positive energy and releasing them. This process is similar to the shielding technique.

For regular ghosts, you can energetically push them out and set up boundaries on/around the property. Again, being very clear as to what your words mean to you.

I often offer to help them cross over (to the blue light, not the white light. The white light puts us right back into the reincarnation loop. The blue light brings us back to our true home). Many choose to stay…I cannot force them into crossing.

For aggressive entities or ghosts and/or demons, please leave that to those who have experience with them.

I recommend for Reiki Practitioners who want to learn more to reach out to a Reiki Master who also deals with hauntings, ghosts, and/or paranormal activity.

Here’s a heads up: the homeowners and/or family member can call them back into the property…free will.
